A Television
Show Celebrating & Supporting Bellydancers & Those in the
Bellydance Community
"Rak On! Bellydance" is a locally produced TV show that
began airing in MAY 2004 in the Puget Sound area. The show's
focus is on local bellydancers (soloist, duets and troupes) of a
variety of Bellydance styles including Cabaret, American Tribal,
Fusion, etc. The show can be seen TWICE a week!
Airing on the Puget Sound Access television channel on Comcast Cable channel 77, the
purpose of this show is to not only offer and show support within
the Bellydance Community but to also educate the general public, who
might not be familiar with or have not seen Bellydancing.

We continue to look into the various Bellydance happenings &
events for inclusion in future shows/projects. If you're interested
in possibly being a guest, please feel free to contact us for
consideration.

FAQ's
Questions frequently
asked of Stephanie L. Ogle, "Rak On! Bellydance"
Creator/Producer
Q: "What a great idea! What inspired you to do a
project/show like this?" A: I
was inspired to do this show because it was a way to blend the
passions in my life (tv/video/film production and bellydancing). I
felt it was a field that was not properly tapped into locally &
that niche needed to be filled.
Q: "Are shows going to be available to
purchase?" A: No. The shows will
be airing on a community access channel, non-commercial station.
This is a not-for-profit venture.
Q: "I live outside of the WA area. How can I
participate?" A: Although we want
to showcase the talents of those in the Pacific Northwest, at this
time we are only showcasing those in the Seattle/Western WA area. We
are, however, working on ways to showcase those outside of the
immediate area via video clips. We're still working on a way to
include everyone.
Q: "Will the show only have bellydance
performances?" A: Not at
all...that's the beauty of this whole project. We will be showcasing
dancers, musicians, talk with costumers, retailers, restaurant
owners, students...you name it! The purpose is to spread the word
about the Middle Eastern dance culture & to provide a supportive
medium in which to share it.
Q: "Where can I see live bellydancing or some of the
dancers that appear on the shows?" A: Live dancing can be seen locally in a variety of
places...restaurants/night clubs, festivals, halflas, etc. There is
a "Bellydance Events Calendar" that will appear at the end of every
show with event happenings.
